  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 25 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf (8-10 slices)

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, and eggs until well combined.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and mashed bananas.
  5. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in chopped walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from oven and cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for maximum flavor and sweetness.
  • Ensure your oven temperature is accurate for evenly baked bread.
  • Allow the bread to cool sufficiently before slicing to maintain moistness.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze slices for later enjoyment.
