- 1 large loaf of French bread or Italian bread
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Using a sharp knife, cut the bread into a grid pattern, stopping just before cutting through the bottom.
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic, oregano, and parsley.
- Brush the butter mixture generously between the cuts and over the top.
- Stuff shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses into the cuts.
- Wrap the bread loosely with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with additional herbs before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add cooked bacon bits or chopped olives between the layers before baking. Serve warm for best gooey cheese experience.
