- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 cups peeled and sliced apples
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and powdered sugar. Add flour and mix until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
- In a separate bowl, toss apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Spread over the crust evenly.
- In another bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, and salt. Sprinkle the streusel evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown. Let cool before slicing.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For a crumble topping variation, add chopped nuts or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
