- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a small bowl, activate yeast with warm milk and a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and shape into a baking dish or individual rolls. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
