- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until browned. Transfer to crockpot.
- Add crushed tomatoes, beef broth, and Italian seasoning. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Add broken lasagna noodles during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Before serving, stir in mozzarella cheese until melted. Garnish with Parmesan and basil.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
- Use gluten-free noodles if needed.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of red wine during cooking.
