- 5-6 large apples (Granny Smith or Fuji), sliced

- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: Mix flour, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add ice water gradually until dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
- In a large bowl, toss apple slices with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out half the dough and fit into a pie dish.
- Fill with apple mixture, then cover with a lattice crust or top crust.
- Seal edges, cut slits for steam, and brush with egg wash if desired.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbly. Cool before serving.
