Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a skillet, cook onions with olive oil and butter over medium heat until caramelized, about 20 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Roll out pizza dough on a baking sheet.
- Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle with shredded Gruyere and Parmesan cheeses.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with additional thyme if desired, then slice and serve hot.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a splash of balsamic vinegar to the onions during caramelization.
