- 1 large head of green cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef or chicken
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional herbs: parsley, dill
Instructions
- Carefully peel cabbage leaves, blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain.
- In a bowl, combine ground meat, cooked rice, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs.
- Place a scoop of the filling onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly.
- Arrange rolls in a baking dish and cover with tomato sauce.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes until cooked through.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or plant-based protein for variation.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or paprika to the filling.
