Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large baguette or Italian bread loaf
- 2 cups cooked spaghetti (preferably with marinara or your favorite sauce)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: cooked sausage, grilled chicken, or vegetables for extra flavor
Instructions
- Cut the loaf in half lengthwise and scoop out some of the soft interior—creating a hollow center for the spaghetti filling. Be careful not to puncture the crust. Brush the cut sides with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic and Italian seasoning.
- In a bowl, mix the cooked spaghetti with marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. For a protein boost, add cooked sausage or grilled chicken. Set aside.
- Fill the hollowed-out bread with the spaghetti mixture, pressing gently to pack in the filling. Place the bread halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle additional cheese on top if desired.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden. For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 2 minutes, watching carefully.
Notes
- You can customize the recipe by adding your favorite cooked proteins or vegetables.
- Use fresh herbs for more vibrant flavor and garnish.
- For a gluten-free version, substitute with gluten-free bread and pasta.
