Enjoy a quick and flavorful weeknight dinner with our Speedy Honey Garlic Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry. Tender beef slices are cooked to perfection with fresh broccoli in a savory honey garlic sauce, creating a nutritious and delicious dish that’s ready in just 20 minutes. Perfect for busy evenings, this stir-fry combines sweet, savory, and aromatic flavors for a satisfying meal.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 teaspoons water)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain. Mince the garlic and chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Mix soy sauce, honey, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil in a small bowl to make the sauce.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed. Sauté the minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Return the beef to the skillet. Pour in the sauce, stir well, then add the cornstarch slurry to thicken. Cook for another minute until shiny and coated.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired, over rice or noodles for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Use thinly sliced beef for quick cooking and tenderness. Slightly freezing the beef before slicing helps get thinner slices.
  • Do not overcook the broccoli to maintain its vibrant color and nutrients.
  • Adjust sauce sweetness or add spice with red pepper flakes or rice vinegar for extra flavor.
  • Prepare all ingredients before cooking for quick and efficient stir-frying.
