Sweet and savory McGriddle Bites are perfect handheld treats, combining fluffy pancake-like dough with a savory inside, finished with a drizzle of syrup.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon or sausage crumbles (optional)
  • Syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a mini muffin tin with paper or silicone liners.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk and egg until combined.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Fold in bacon or sausage if using.
  5. Fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full with batter.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and fluffy.
  7. Allow to cool slightly, drizzle with syrup, and serve warm.
